TEF Intern Role & Responsibilities

Tech Education Fund (TEF) is a registered nonprofit organization, Springfield, VA. The mission of the organization is to serve the needs of minority and disadvantaged community members of Mongolia, who want to pursue education and professions in the technology sector and STEM fields. The organization will support the students with disadvantaged backgrounds with mentorship, subsidized loans, and resources needed to study education programs that empower students to escape from poverty and improve their livelihoods on their own.

TEF is looking for 2 part-time volunteer interns per semester that can help with programs, fundraising events, and student programs.

Benefits
Students will learn how to work well with others, make daily and weekly plans and goals for themselves and for the project. Improve self-organizational skills, team skills, and help contribute to the important cause of the project. The NGO can provide recommendation letter to future employers.

Duration
The duration of internship can be 3-6 months, depending on the availability and program goals. The interns are expected to spend 5-15 hours a week.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Interns will help organize events and grant applications
  • Communicate results to team members and Board of Directors
  • Come up with ideas to improve the current results
  • Organize the files and information coming from the students
  • Help with other administrative and project management tasks

Requirements and Skills:

  • Fluent English (reading, writing, and speaking skills). Knowledge of Mongolia is desirable
  • Responsible and committed to her/his work
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Expected to communicate to the program manager promptly if they face any issues
  • Need to have a computer and internet connection
  • Students in highschool and college are considered
